<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism for performing secure printing with respect to output-instructed print data. <P>SOLUTION: A printer 300a reads the manufacturing number of the IC card of a portable terminal 500 of a user, and acquires a user name and the identification information of the portable terminal 500 after authentication by a table for authentication of an authentication server 200, and transmits them to a print management server 100. The print management server 100 transmits the print data corresponding to the user name to the portable terminal 500. The portable terminal 500 displays the list of print data, and transmits the data whose printing is selected by the user to the print management server 100. The printer 300a reads the manufacturing number of the IC card of the portable terminal 500 again, and transmits the acquired user name and portable terminal identification information to the print management server 100 after authentication.
