PURPOSE: A compressor is provided, which minimizes dead volume between a discharge hole and a piston of a valve plate and improves performance of the compressor. CONSTITUTION: A compressor comprises a head(51), a cylinder block, and a valve assembly(53). The head comprises an ejection chamber(51a) and a suction chamber. The cylinder block comprises the ejection chamber and a plurality of cylinder bores selectively connected to the suction chamber. The valve assembly is composed of the valve plate(54) and lead valve(60). The valve plate has discharge hole(54') and suction hole. The lead valve has a lead opening and closing the discharge hole and suction hole. The blocking portion(64) is formed in the discharging lead into one body.
