<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve device having improved operating performance and installing efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The valve device includes a shaft 110 which is turnably provided on a body 101 having a flow path 108 in which fluid flows, and in which a valve is provided for opening/closing the flow path 108 with turning operation, a gear plate 120 mounted at the end of the shaft 110 for transmitting rotation driving force from a driving means to the shaft 110, and a non-contact type rotation sensor 130 arranged right near the end of the shaft 110 for detecting the turning position of the shaft 110 between a detecting element provided on the gear plate 120 and itself. A clearance S is formed between the end and the rotation sensor 130, and the gear plate 120 is fixed with a fixing screw 125 which is threaded to a screw hole 113 formed in the end of the shaft 110.
