PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide aN epoxy resin composition for a coating-type sheet metal-reinforcing material having superior characteristics, such that having no deformation by shower water washing in coated state onto sheet metals as a reinforcing material for automobile sheet metals, able to prevent deformation by shower water washing that has been conventionally difficult, and also by using it, a reinforcing material and a sheet metal having characteristics satisfying requirement can be obtained. SOLUTION: The epoxy resin composition for a coating-type sheet metal-reinforcing material contains 100 pts.mass of an epoxy resin (A), 5-50 pts.mass of a latent hardening agent (B), 50 pts.mass or less of a plasticizer (C), 10-70 pts.mass of a carbon black (D) and 10-300 pts.mass of an inorganic filler (E); wherein viscosity by using Brookfield viscometer (H type) with No. 7 rotor, at 40°C and 10 rpm, is 200 Pa s or higher.
