<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently narrow down documents in performing the retrieval processing of a document. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A retrieval server 20 retrieves a document corresponding to a keyword, and performs the clustering of the document of the retrieval result. The retrieval server 20 determines the maximum category name showing the maximum cluster in which the number of sorted documents is the largest based on words included in the documents sorted to the maximum cluster, and accepts the input of selective information showing whether or not the maximum category name is matched with the intention of the user. The retrieval server 20 displays the list of the documents classified to the largest cluster, when the selective information shows that the maximum category name is matched with the intention, and displays the list of the documents not classified to the maximum cluster, when the selective information shows that the maximum category name is not matched with the intention.
