<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder liner which can be fixed to a molding die without causing any chip or crack of an end thereof. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the cylindrical cylinder liner 10, a piston sliding area 18 is formed of aluminum containing pro-eutectic silicon, and one end 12 thereof is formed of aluminum containing no pro-eutectic silicon.
