<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine, reducing acceleration shock while inhibiting response delay of the internal combustion engine in reacceleration after deceleration with a relatively simple structure. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the control device for the internal combustion engine which is applied to the internal combustion engine 1 provided with a throttle valve 13 in an intake air passage 6 and mounted on a vehicle as a travel power source, and which controls a throttle valve 13 based on opening change of an accelerator pedal 15 of a vehicle, the throttle valve 13 is opened to raise pressure in the intake air passage 6 in an intake air flow direction downstream of the throttle valve 13 as compared with the pressure when deceleration of the vehicle is requested, if it is determined that vehicle deceleration request is removed.
