MAGNETIC CONFINEMENT AND ELECTROSTATIC CONFINEMENT OF PLASMA IN FIELD REVERSED CONFIGURATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device which avoid anomalous transport and facilitate classical containment of both electrons and ions in order to confine plasma which is particularly important for enabling nuclear fusion reactions.

SOLUTION: The plasma confinement device includes a chamber, a magnetic field generator for applying a magnetic field in the chamber substantially along the spindle of the chamber, and a current coil for inducing an azimuthal electric field in the chamber, and a plasma supply source for injecting plasma which has electrons and ions into the chamber.
