<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suggest a stopper that does not damage a plate-like article, regarding the stopper in a conveying line of the plate-like article. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This stopper relates to stopping of the plate-like article traveling on the conveying line at a prescribed position. The stopper has a stopper pin for suppressing the traveling of the plate-like article by projecting upward from a plate-like article conveying surface, a first driving means for driving the stopper pin in the vertical direction, and a second driving means for driving the first driving means and the stopper in a direction parallel to an advancing direction of the plate-like article. Two states of a stop state for stopping the plate-like article by projecting the stopper pin upward from the conveying surface and a saving state for saving the stopper pin downward from the conveying surface can be switched. When the stop state is transferred to the saving state, the second driving means is driven in the advancing direction of the plate-like article, and subsequently the first driving means is driven in a lower direction to lower the stopper pin.
