<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear improved in strength in comparison with a conventional one, and to provide an image forming device having such a gear. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming device includes a photoreceptor and a gear 200 formed of a helical gear for transmitting drive to the photoreceptor. The gear 200 includes: a rim 202 formed with a plurality of teeth 206 at a predetermined helix angle in the outer peripheral surface 204 thereof: a hub 230 arranged in the rim 202 in at least one part thereof and supported freely to turn around the center shaft; and a helical rib 250 connecting the rim 202 to the hub 230.
