The compact mechanism connects two co-axial links end to end, and converts the linear axial movement of one link into the inverse motion of the other. A closed confined loop (106) of ball bearings (153) may effect the transmission. It has two parallel runs connected by half circular runs, and the two parallel runs are connected to the respective ends of the two links (103, 104). A 'U' section (101) and a cover (102) may be connected by studs (116, 117) through holes to house the assembly, accommodating longitudinally slotted (131, 137) overlapping link ends (103, 104) at the top and bottom. Each link has a nib (107, 109) which occupies a gap in the ball bearing loop, and the links sandwich the loop with an 'H' shaped spacer (155) and two tongues (143, 144) forming its remaining track boundaries.
|
