The housing comprises a lower housing half with a central opening for a pin to secure the upper half. The underside of the lower half is shaped (10) so that it serves as the upper part of the clamp strap (30) fixture for securing the bell on the handlebar (via screws 7 in bores in 26). This lower housing half may be in plastic. The bearing face (26) for the strap (30) is pref. surrounded by a housing wall portion (12,16) so that the head (33) of the fixing screw (7) does not project below the lower face (16) of this portion.
