The invention in question concerns breaking activity, for the production of chips, the breaking down of rubbish or similar break down of materials. More specifically, the invention concerns an appliance for such breaking which is equipped with at least one pair of rotationally arranged drive-cylinders or mutually opposite directions, at the same time as supporting the breaking tool which displays teeth, edges or similar (2), and which combine in a gap between the cylinders or axles, in which the materials to be processed are fed for breaking by the breaking tool.According to the invention, a number of ring or sleeve like elements (3, 4) should be arranged on the cylinders or axles (1). At least a part of these elements should be furnished with breaking tools along their outer circumference, where the rest will then make up the distance elements between those elements furnished with breaking tools. The most significant aspect of the invention is that the ring or sleeve like elements (3, 4) are, with the help of axial supports (5, 6) on the resp. cylinders or axles (1), deployed against each other's sides during their extension with such an axial force, that the rising pressure between the reciprocal elements provides a friction between the elements, which is greater than that torque with which the extension unit is working, and thereby retains the ring or sleeve like elements in their intended position on the cylinders or axles.<IMAGE> |
