<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing system capable of easily changing over an operation object apparatus used as an operation object of an operation apparatus, and an information processing method using it. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This information processing system 1000 acquires a positional relationship of the operation apparatus 1100 with respect to each of a plurality of operation object apparatuses 1200, identifies one of the plurality of operation object apparatuses 1200 as an operation object based on the positional relationship, and establishes communication between the operation object apparatus 1200 identified as an operation object and the operation apparatus 1100 by using first discrimination information for discriminating the operation object apparatus 1200 and second discrimination information for discriminating the operation apparatus 1100.
