The method involves conveying a hollow body (13) with a downwardly aligned opening to a wire rod chain (9), and guiding the hollow body with the wire rod chain to nozzles (21). A section of the hollow body is passed stationarily over the nozzles for spraying washing fluid into the hollow body. The nozzles are vertically guided in a nozzle carrier (17) in a displaceable manner, where the nozzles comprise a valve that permits supply of the fluid only during overlapping of the nozzles and a wire rod (11). An independent claim is also included for a device for washing and rinsing a hollow body.
