PURPOSE: A power train of an automatic transmission is provided to select first to fourth clutches and first and second frictional elements, thereby realizing forward speeds 1 to 8 and backward speed 2. CONSTITUTION: A first planetary gear set(PG1) comprises a first operation member, a second operation member, and a third operation member. The third operation member is fixably connected to an input shaft. A second planet gear set(PG2) comprises a fourth operation member, a fifth operation member, and a sixth operation member. The fourth operation member is fixably connected to the second operation member. Frictional members selectively connect the operation members, the input shaft, an output shaft, and a transmission case.
