<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control display speed when ticker-displaying (scroll-displaying) character string information. <P>SOLUTION: A part of a character string image virtually arranged in a line is extracted as a display area, and the character string image in the extracted display area is displayed. The display area on the character string image is moved at a predetermined moving speed.
