<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To associatively retrieve video content whose content relevancy is high or its partial scene on the basis of arbitrary content without designating any search keyword. <P>SOLUTION: A metadata storage part 5 stores metadata including information on the subject of each segment of video content and a relational subject and an associative index showing relevance between the subject or the relational subject and the segment of the video content. A video content display part 6 displays the content data of the video content, and when receiving a search request, specifies a segment of the video content displayed in reception, and acquires the subject of the segment and the relational subject as a search key from metadata.
