<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refill unit having a container of a product to be dispensed and a pump combined with the container to dispense the product which solves the problem that the refill unit has a reciprocating piston pump extending into the container, so that volume of the product is reduced by the volume occupied by the pump. <P>SOLUTION: The refill unit 80 includes: the container 20 holding a liquid, the container 20 having a neck 18 extending from a shoulder and being received in a dispenser housing with the neck positioned below the shoulder; a piston housing 12 secured to the container at the neck 18 and extending into the neck to define a passageway communicating with the liquid in the container at an inlet end thereof, the piston housing 12 being positioned within the neck so as not to extend beyond the shoulder; and a piston assembly 14 reciprocating between a non-actuated position and an actuated position relative to the piston housing 12 to dispense the liquid, wherein the piston assembly 14 does not extend beyond the shoulder. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
