PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that there is a risk such that an article with a punched hole showing invalidity in prior art is determined to be valid and correct because the presence or absence of the punched hole cannot be confirmed depending upon the position of the punched hole, and to satisfy the point that it further improves an accuracy in case of confirming the presence or absence of the punched hole by intermediating a light and intending to irradiate the entire surface of the card and to obtain data by its irradiation. SOLUTION: A truth/falsehood-determining device of the cards has a roller for loading and unloading at least the card on the front surface of a casing and is equipped with a sensor corresponding to an object to be checked of each type, that is, an ultraviolet sensor, a thickness measuring sensor of the card and the like, a card moving position sensor, and an attachment presence/absence detecting and letter reading sensor on its conveying passage. The truth/falsehood-determining device of the cards equipped with a light-emitting unit composed of a bundle fiber positioned ahead of the above roller, and a light receiving unit for receiving the light from the light emitting unit by reflecting or penetrating the light from its light emitting unit by corresponding a light emitting unit composed of a bundle fiber to the card and the like to become an object.
