<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a level measuring device which transfers to an external device that abnormality occurs at the device, even if it does not transmit a device information which shows status of the device into the external device. <P>SOLUTION: The level measuring device includes a level information detection part, a control part, and a data transmitting part. The level information detection part detects the level information so as to obtain a level value of an object to be measured contained in a container. The control part calculates the level value of the object to be measured from the level information. Further, the control part detects whether an error is generated in the level information detection part, if an error is not generated, and generates the level data showing the calculated level value. Meanwhile, if the error is generated in the level information detection part, the control part generates the abnormal level data showing the level value which is not measured.
