PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a toner, and a global environmental-friendly toner, which achieves both high temperature offset resistance and low temperature fixability, and which has high hydrolysis resistance, and to provide a developer, a developing device and an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a toner containing at least a binder resin, a colorant and a carbodiimide compound is characterized in that: the binder resin has an acid number of 5 to 30 mgKOH/g; a carbodiimide group included in the carbodiimide compound reacts with a terminal carboxyl group included in the binder resin to crosslink the binder resin; and an equivalent percentage, which is a proportion of the equivalent of carbodiimide groups with respect to the equivalent of carboxyl groups in the binder resin, satisfies an expression (1):-0.78x+23.9≤y≤-2.8x+94, wherein x represents an acid number of the binder resin and y represents an equivalent percentage.
