PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electroluminescent device having excellent light emission efficiency and epochally improved life, and to provide a new electroluminescent compound for achieving the device. SOLUTION: The new organic electroluminescent compound, and the electroluminescent device using the compound in an electroluminescent layer are provided. The organic electroluminescent compound is characterized by being a compound represented by chemical formula (1) (wherein, R<SB>1</SB>to R<SB>16</SB>represent each H, a halogen, an aryl ring, a cycloalkyl ring or the like). Since the organic electroluminescent compound has good light emission efficiency, and excellent color purity and lifetime characteristics of a material, an OLED (organic light-emitting diode) having extremely good drive lifetime can be produced from the compound.
