<p>Provided is an optical scanning microscope wherein load to a sample is reduced without reducing a frame rate. A laser beam emitted from a light source (22) is permitted to perform scanning on a sample (12) by a horizontal scanner (25) and a vertical scanner (26). A light blocking element (23) transmits or blocks the laser beam emitted from the light source (22) corresponding to an instruction given from a switching section (32). The switching section (32) controls operation of the light blocking element (23) by monitoring image frame obtained by scanning the sample (12) with the laser beam, so that an irradiation pattern of the laser beam to the sample (12) changes. This invention is applicable to a laser scanning microscope.</p> |
