LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display element which allows bright reflection display.

SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display element includes at least a reflection display element disposed so as to hold a liquid crystal layer 2 between a glass substrate 13 and a glass substrate 1. The reflection display element includes a counter electrode 7 formed on a main surface of the side of the liquid crystal layer 2 of the glass substrate 13, an insulating film 5 formed on a main surface of the glass substrate 13 so as to cover the counter electrode 7 and pixel electrodes 3 discretely formed on the insulating film 5. The pixel electrodes 3 are characterized in that part or the whole thereof consists of a metallic film.
