PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of correcting landing positions of ink of a plurality of heads by using one driving waveform, and to provide the head driving control method of the image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a carriage which performs scanning in the main scanning direction; recording heads 35 to 38 which are disposed on the carriage and eject droplets; recording head driving means 31 to 34 for driving the recording heads 35 to 38; a driving waveform generating means 27 for generating a driving waveform; and a recording head control means 24 of transmitting the driving waveform generated by the driving waveform generating means 27 to the recording head driving means 31 to 34, whereby control of droplet ejection is performed according to the driving waveform. The driving waveform generating means 27 generates the driving waveform which repeats the fundamental waveform of performing the minimum amounts of droplet ejection for a plurality of times.
