PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens, having superior optical performance favorably corrected in various aberrations including a color aberration at a wide field angle and at a high zoom ratio. SOLUTION: This zoom lens includes a first lens group having negative refractive power and a second lens group having positive refractive power in order from the object side to the image side, wherein in zooming, the interval of the respective lens group is varied. The first lens group includes a first lens component having negative refractive power, a second lens component formed of material different from the material of the first lens component and having refractive power stacked on the lens surface of the first lens component and a third lens component having positive refractive power, wherein the image side surface of the second lens component is aspherical, and the refractive index to a d line of the material of the first lens component and Abbe numbers Nd1n, vd1n are suitably set.
