PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device more simply or rapidly displaying a desired through-image of a user. SOLUTION: This imaging device is characterized in that an image signal is generated by introducing of an optical image of an object; an imaging signal corresponding to an image size for a still image is recorded in a recording medium is response to a still image record instruction; an imaging signal corresponding to an image size for a moving image is recorded in a recording medium in response to a moving image record instruction; a through-image for a still image corresponding the image size for a still image is displayed in a display means by repeatedly creating an imaging signal; a through-image for a moving image corresponding to the image size for a moving image is displayed on the display means by repeatedly creating an imaging signal; the through-image for a still image and the through-image for a moving image are changed over from each other; and the still image record instruction or the moving image record instruction is received when the through-image for a still image or the through-image for a moving image is displayed.
