The electrical overhead conveyor has a mounting rail (4) and a carrier car (8) with a load supporting chassis (22), where the chassis has a propelled driving pulley (24), which rolls on a drive bearing surface (14) of the mounting rail. The transmission units (30,32,48) are provided, by which the speed of the carrier car is changeable, with which the transmission units proceed on the mounting rail. The effective diameters of the driving pulley are changeable for the drive of the carrier car.
