<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter that can selectively obtain a voltage-level nonconversion mode, a step-down mode and a boosting mode, is reducible in cost and can quickly be started. <P>SOLUTION: The control of first to sixth switches Q1 to Q6 is switched for obtaining the nonconversion mode that makes an output voltage Vo the same as an input AC voltage Vin, the step-down mode that makes the Vo lower than the Vin, and the boosting mode that makes the Vo higher than the Vin. Powers are fed from one power supply to drive circuits 81 to 86 of the first to sixth Q1 to Q6. In order to quickly start power supplies to all the drive circuits 81 to 86 from the one power supply at starting, an output of a bias voltage generator contained in a control circuit 2 for the first to sixth switches Q1 to Q6 is set at a low level at the starting. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
