<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device for a vehicle capable of evenly rupturing a lid part along a brittle line at the time of cleavage. <P>SOLUTION: An instrument panel 2 is partitioned into an instrument panel body 4 and the lid 5 by the brittle line 3, a hinge part is set in advance in a part of the brittle line 3 between the instrument panel body 4 and the lid 5, the lid 5 is turned around the hinge part at the time of cleavage of an air bag unit arranged on the back surface side of the lid 5, a plurality of boss parts 22 and 23 are provided on the instrument panel body 4 near the hinge part, and the air bag unit is fixed on the boss parts 22 and 23 through a bracket.
