TWO PIPE OPERATION IN VECTOR PROCESSOR FOR MULTIPROCESSING SUPERCOMPUTER
摘要
Increased speed of execution of vector operations is achieved in a multiprocessing vector register supercomputer by intra-processor parallelism. Each processor contains two pipes interfacing the vector registers to dual fonctional units. Operands are simultaneously transmitted on the two pipes to one of the dual functional units. The dual functional unit performs an identical algorithm in parallel on each of the operands and simultaneously transmits the results back to the vector registers.
