<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve aligning performance of a sheet when delivering the sheet from conveying passages of a plurality of systems to a relay conveying device discharging paper formed with images after processing the paper after temporarily stacking the paper. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When conveying a plurality of sheets of paper S by overlapping the sheets of the paper S to an intermediate stacker 40 as the relay conveying device from the paper conveying passages 30, a part of the paper S is made to precede the other part at a starting stage of the conveyance. Subsequently, the preceding state is held and the plurality of sheets of paper S are conveyed.
