<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To unify postures around the shaft of a bead wire with a polygonal cross-section which has reached a molding former. Ž<P>SOLUTION: With the use of an apparatus 10 for producing a bead core for a tire which has an unwinding device 16 for unwinding the reel-wound bead wire W, the molding former 15 which is arranged circumferentially, is installed radially to be movable, and has a plurality of arcuate segments 14 with a circumferential groove 13 formed in each peripheral surface, and a plurality of roller devices 12, 17, 20, 21, and 22 which are arranged between the unwinding device 16 and the molding former 15, are supported rotatably around the axis, and have rollers 12a, 12b, 17a, 17b, 20a, 20b, 21a, 21b and 22b onto which the bead wire W is wound, the bead wire W is transferred toward the side of the molding former 15 while it is wound onto each roller in the roller devices in the same direction as the rotating direction of a reel 11 when the bead wire W is unwound.
