<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a time for machining an eccentric type reduction gear on which a plate is provided for holding a crank shaft between a plurality of external gears. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the inner periphery of a case 11, a pin groove 52 is formed where pin internal teeth 22 are arranged. Between a first external gear 28a and a second external gear 28b meshing with the pin inner teeth 22, an intermediate bearing 41 which rotatably holds an intermediate portion 23e of the crank shaft 23, and the plate 39 which holds the intermediate bearing 41 are arranged. In the inner periphery of the case 11, at a position where the outer periphery of the plate 39 opposes, a recessed portion 53 is provided throughout its periphery, which is recessed as deep as or deeper than the pin groove 52.
