<p>The subject matter of this specification can be embodied in, among other things, a system for drying biosolids using waste heat from a cement-making process. The system includes an interface with a cement-making component, where the interface is configured to channel a waste heat gas generated during a manufacture of cement. The system includes a dryer that receives wet biosolids and uses heated dryer air in direct contact with the wet biosolids to produce a dried product. The dryer air has an oxygen content below a level allowing combustion to occur. The system includes a heat exchanger that receives the waste heat gas from the interface and uses the waste heat gas to heat the dryer air for the dryer, wherein the waste heat gas and the dryer air do not mix.</p> |
