RECEPTION DEVICE AND RECEPTION DEVICE CONTROL METHOD

Provided is a reception device which can maintain a desired search condition. The reception device includes: a storage means (RAM 15b) which stores a category contained in most significant category information relating to a channel being received; a display means (LCD 17) for displaying the stored category; an instruction means (touch panel 18) which receives an instruction of a search execution; a search means (main microcomputer 15) which searches a channel containing the stored category as most or least significant category information if the search execution is instructed; a selection means (satellite tuner 12) which selects and receives the searched channel; and a control means (main microcomputer 15).  When a search execution is instructed, the control means sets a mode enabled to input a category of the search condition.  When the category is inputted, the control means causes the storage means to store the category as a new search condition, causes the search means to perform search, and causes the display means to display the category.
