<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic instrument which prevents a secondary damage concerning an electronic circuit which is derived from a shock caused by a fall, etc. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A cellphone 1 includes: an acceleration sensor 33; electronic circuits such as a charge control part 35, a vibration motor 34, an OLED 21a, an LED 21b or the like; and a CPU 30 which determines a shock level indicating a direction and strength of the shock by an acceleration value detected by the acceleration sensor 33, and limits energization to the electronic circuit in response to the determined shock level.
