Provided is a hollow fiber membrane module in which one or plural hollow fiber membrane bundles each composed of plural hollow fiber membranes each comprise fixed layers fixed by a casting resin at both ends and a hollow portion of the hollow fiber membrane is open at one or both ends.  In at least one fixed layer on the side on which the hollow portion is open, the hollow fiber membrane bundle is divided into plural small bundles, and the outer periphery of each of the small bundles is covered with an elastic body in the vicinity of an interface with a filtration portion of the fixed layer.
