<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellulose saccharification system and an ethanol production system, high in energy efficiency and capable of efficiently saccharifying mass cellulose and efficiently producing bioethanol in large quantities. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Provided is a cellulose saccharification system for hydrolyzing cellulose as the raw material into saccharides and comprising a pretreatment step 1 and a saccharification treatment step 3, wherein the pretreatment step 1 comprises a step of wet-pulverizing the coarsely pulverized cellulose slurry introduced to a pretreatment vessel 25 on a high temperature and high pressure condition at a temperature of 140-220°C and a pressure of ≥saturation pressure of the slurry at the temperature, and the saccharification treatment step 3 comprises a step of saccharifying the wet-pulverized cellulose slurry with an enzyme.
