INTAKE CHANNELS FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES

PURPOSE: An intake channel for an internal combustion engine and a method changing the average swirl count of an engine is provided to accomplish an optimum swirl level and to increase the combustion efficiency. CONSTITUTION: An intake channel for an internal combustion engine comprises an adjustable position guide vane(120), a spiral port(140) and a tangential port(150). The adjustable position guide vane is arranged within the channel. The adjustable position guide vane changes the distribution of flow velocity within the channel in order to change a mean swirl level with in a cylinder(200) of the engine. The adjustable position guide vane is installed in order to be contiguous to an induction port(130). The adjustable position guide vane generates fluxional velocity profiles while operating itself.
