The present invention relates to the field of accessories of a therapeutic or medical nature for care and protection of organs of the body. More specifically, the invention relates to an accessory for care and protection of the foot, designed to prevent and manage the formation of sores in persons forced to remain lying down over a prolonged period. To this end, the invention relates to a support cushion composed of a block (1) of elastically deformable material which has the general shape of a ring or torus with a groove (3) and which is traversed by a plurality of channels of radial axis situated in the equatorial plane of the toroidal volume, namely a first channel (4) of substantially circular cross section, able to envelop the bottom of the leg above the ankles, a second channel (5) of substantially rectangular cross section, able to envelope the instep, and a third channel (6) in the shape of two truncated cones attached at the apex, the perimeter of the lower truncated cone opening into the central groove (3) and able to surround the heel area. Said cushion comprises a slit (7) arranged in the equatorial plane and running along a segment (2) of the toroidal volume situated between the first channel (4) and the second channel (5), allowing this segment to open into two equal parts for the purpose of inserting the heel area inside the cushion, the heel being placed opposite the third channel (6).
