The motor vehicle roof (1) has a front roof strut (2), a rear window, and a roof coating closing the roof opening. A lighting medium is provided for lighting a passenger area overarched by a motor vehicle roof. The lighting medium is arranged at an edge-side of the roof opening, and has a holder forwardly limiting the light breakdown. The lighting medium is also arranged at an edge-side of an upper edge (6) of a rear window (3). |
