PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner which is not easily detached from an installation plate even when the air conditioner is inclined around an upper lock part of the installation plate when connecting a pipe. SOLUTION: The air conditioner is provided with a heat exchanger, an air fan for blowing out indoor air which has undergone heat exchange by the heat exchanger, a cabinet including the heat exchanger and air blowing fan, and the installation plate for installation on a wall face. The back face upper part of the cabinet is provided with engagement upper claws extended downwardly, and the engagement upper claw is provided with a recessed part on the face opposite to the wall face. The upper part of the installation plate is provided with the upper lock part extended upwardly, and the upper lock part is provided with projecting parts toward the wall face direction. When the air conditioner is inclined around the upper end of the upper lock part, the recessed parts of the engagement upper claws are made to abut on the projecting parts of the upper lock part.
