<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake device of an elevator having a braking body capable of suppressing a frequency of the occurrence of a failure, or a rotational displacement detecting means of the braking body. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Micro switches (detecting means) 24A and 24B are arranged not vertically while having angles, and since the micro switches 24A and 24B and a striker (the braking body) 26 operate in the same direction without dislocating the direction, an operational abnormality such as fixed stagnation can be prevented.
