PURPOSE: An electronic device and a method for icon activation of the same are provided to activate an icon freely by outputting an activation domain movement signal. CONSTITUTION: An electronic device includes: a display unit(3000) that displays an icon and an image; an input unit(1000) that generates an input signal and a sensing signal for the movement of pointer; and a body unit(2000) that moves the icon to an activation region according to a sensing signal and provides the signal for screen display to the display unit. The electronic device further contains a case and a power supply unit and a pointer control module(2100). The pointer control module generates an activation region movement signal corresponding to the movement of a sensor by receiving plural sensing signals and activates a corresponding icon.
