<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine capable of accurately diagnosing deterioration of a catalyst device. <P>SOLUTION: When shifting from ordinary vibration of an air-fuel ratio before catalyst deterioration diagnosis to vibration in catalyst deterioration diagnosis, shifting to vibration for catalyst deterioration diagnosis is performed through a process of catalyst oxygen storage amount initializing control for setting a period of vibration of amplitude control of the air-fuel ratio to 1/2 of a period in ordinary vibration, and a catalyst oxygen storage amount in start of catalyst deterioration diagnosis is optimized, and erroneous diagnosis by catalyst deterioration diagnosis can be avoided, and diagnosis accuracy can be improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
