<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immunochromatograph method low in background noise and capable of performing rapid detection with high sensitivity. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The immunochromatograph method contains a process (1) for developing a substance to be examined, a process (2) for washing a substance other than the labeled substance captured on the reaction region on an insoluble carrier by a specific bond by sending a washing liquid so as to bring the labeled substance remaining other than the reaction region to 5×10<SP>5</SP>/mm<SP>2</SP>or below on an average, and a process (3) for performing sensitization using a silver-containing compound and an amplifying liquid containing a reducing agent for silver ions.
