The device has a central body (12) forming a circular primary combustion zone (10a) in a flame pipe (5). A secondary combustion zone (10b) is attached to the primary zone in a flow direction of fuel. The body has passage openings for a coolant e.g. air, where the openings are grouped in the form of multiple cooling arrays that partially extend over the length of the body. The arrays are arranged over the circumference of the body, and distributed at a preset position on the body. The arrays are provided adjacent to multiple primary fuel injectors (7).
