<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a catalog database that reduces the burdens on catalog registrants and that is user-friendly by registering catalog information according to groups suited to users' search requests, and reflecting users' search results. <P>SOLUTION: A Web application server reads catalog information in S110 and selects grouping data in S112. The server sets Web application server grouping in S114. If there is a grouping instruction from a client PC in S117, the server registers catalog data in the database 310 according to groups in S118.
